Customer Center West
After completing his first apprenticeship as a goldsmith, Pierre Dorißen worked for five years in the building services department of a senior citizens’ facility. It was there that his passion for electrical engineering developed. So in 2015, he started a second apprenticeship as an electronics technician for industrial engineering at one of the largest chemical companies in NRW. After completing the apprenticeship, he followed up with further training to become an industrial foreman in electrical engineering, which he successfully passed last year.
Since January 1st, 2020, he has been employed in the service department and as an electronics technician at Mayer Customer Center West in the Lower Rhine region and also takes care of all aspects of the Domino printer system of our partner Domino Deutschland GmbH as an expert and contact person.
Pierre, why did you choose Mayer?
“After my work experience in industry, I was looking for a new and more challenging job. I then heard about the new opening of the Mayer Customer Center West in Kevelaer. During a taster day at the customer center, I was introduced to the horticultural sector, which I had not been familiar with before. After that it was clear to me “I want to be part of it”. Personally, I see great potential in the industry to automate it even more effectively. That’s why I decided to become a part of Mayer. Together we will shape the future of horticulture and I’m looking forward to that.”
What are your tasks at Mayer?
“At the moment, the focus is on all service assignments that have an electrical engineering background. In addition, I have made it my task to carry out the installations or commissioning of the Domino printer systems and to be the direct contact person in this topic. In the Customer Center West, planning, ordering spare parts and customer support are part of my daily tasks. In the future, the planning of larger orders, as well as consulting and technical support in the field of electrical engineering in the entire Mayer Group will be among my tasks.”
What do you particularly enjoy about your job?
“What I particularly enjoy about my job is the direct contact with our customers. Whether with on-site service or telephone support, it’s a pleasure for me to help our customers successfully. The flat hierarchy and the young as well as healthy working atmosphere in the Mayer Group makes it very pleasant for me to fulfill my tasks. I am proud to be a team member in the Customer Center West. The good cooperation in our very familiar team contributes a lot to the fact that I enjoy my work very much. We support and trust each other in every way to successfully present the Mayer Group in the Lower Rhine region.”
