Gartenbau Janßen in Kevelear (Germany) was founded in 1964 by Matthias and Margarethe Janßen with a focus on vegetables, cut flowers, potted plants and heather plants. Since 1998 the company has been managed by Hubert and Gabi Janßen in the 2nd generation. With Raphael and Marek Janßen, the 3rd generation is already in the starting blocks and ensures the long-term existence of the innovative company in Western Germany.
Today, the family business with over 35 employees produces on a greenhouse area of 30,000 square meters and 21 hectares of outdoor container storage space. The focus is on Calluna Vulgaris of the brand “Beauty Ladies”.
Gartenbau Janßen relies on technology from Mayer in its new production line. The Mayer BZ 6160 bale breaker will be the first machine to loosen up the big bale and transfer it to the mixer’s soil bunker as required. In the Mayer soil mixer EM 6012 the substrate is moistened and enriched with fertilizer additives. In the third step, the Mayer potting machine TM 2700 XL separates, fills and waters up to 10,000 pots per hour. Finally, the pots are transported to the tables by means of a pneumatic transfer and belts. The entire process runs fully automatically and can be controlled and monitored by one person.
