Project Manager
Walter Lais can draw on more than 10 years of practical and theoretical experience in machine technology thanks to his training as an industrial mechanic and subsequent mechanical engineering technician. He started with us on 01 May 2022 and has been fully responsible for the development of our new product, the PT 5000 buffer belt, among other things, over the last eight months. Together with a team of design engineers and product managers, Walter Lais implements technical projects from the idea to the market launch.
Walter, why did you decide to work for Mayer?
“After a longer experience in classical mechanical engineering, I decided to take a new path in order to face new tasks and to further develop my know-how. Through Mr. Bergmann I became aware of the company Mayer, which convinced me with its products and projects from the beginning. Since I personally see enormous potential in this industry, I definitely wanted to become a part of the Mayer company so that we could tackle future challenges together.”
What are your responsibilities at Mayer?
“Currently, I am primarily involved in the development and realization of the “buffer belt” project. I accompany this project from the first draft in CAD to the production-ready product at the customer.”
What do you particularly enjoy about your job?
“I particularly enjoy being able to accompany projects from the very beginning and to shape them with my own ideas. In addition, there is the outstanding working atmosphere and the good cooperation in our innovative team.”
