Sustainability through own electricity since 2010

Even more electricity from own production at the Mayer Group. Working energy-efficiently and generating climate-friendly electricity from sunlight ourselves – this is how we at the Mayer Group want to reduce our energy costs and at the same time make an important contribution to the regional energy turnaround.

Our requirements for the ERP solution

Those who use renewable energies save CO-2 and thus contribute significantly to climate protection. “With the help of our photovoltaic systems, we produce approx. 60% of our electricity requirements ourselves,” explained Chris Matzner, commercial director of Mayer Holding.

The first PV system on our industrial halls was commissioned as early as 2010. Today, the installed PV capacity is an impressive 665 kWp. The solar cells are not only installed on the roof of our entire building, but also on parts of the facade.  The WALTER Konzept service GmbH from Ellwangen is our service provider in the field of energy management. Nationwide, the company manages 100 megawatts of plant capacity in approx. 650 photovoltaic plants and is therefore the perfect partner for us.

At the location in Heidenheim there is no further space available for solar plants for the time being. In the near future, however, the production site of Mayer Pflanz- und Systemtechnik in Kisfalud, Hungary, is also to be equipped with a spacious photovoltaic plant. In addition to the installation of the solar plants, we are saving even more energy by converting the light sources in the entire production process with LED lights, thus setting another important milestone in the direction of sustainability.

We will gladly keep you informed. If you have any questions about our energy management or our range of services, please contact us here.
