As a pure supplier in the production of welded constructions with mechanical processing, we are specialized in reacting quickly and flexibly to the requests of our customers and to support them competently in the implementation of their next project. With the continuous modernization of our machinery, we created the conditions early on to ensure that the term Industry 4.0 is not just an empty phrase, but is actively lived. In order to further digitalization and to set a new standard in terms of customer satisfaction, speed, and transparency, the introduction of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central represents a further milestone in our development.
Our requirements for the ERP solution
It was important for us to implement a software solution that is close to the standard in order to meet the ever-shorter update cycles and to minimize the error rate. In addition, Dynamics 365 BC is to be introduced step by step as a comprehensive eco-system to cover the needs of Mayer Stahl- & Apparatebau almost completely. As a “Single-Source of Truth”, the ERP system is to form the linchpin of information procurement and transfer. With the help of the cloud-based ERP solution, it will thus be possible in the future to call up the information required from any location and with any device, in compliance with data protection guidelines, and to enable our employees to access all the information they need for their daily work within a single system. Due to historically grown structures in our IT landscape, it was especially important in the inventory to avoid redundancies and to identify dependencies and required interfaces. The implementation of Dynamics 365 BC is currently in full swing and should be completed by early 2021. The implementation in the Steel & Apparatus Engineering division serves as a pilot project within the Mayer Group. The aim is to gradually roll out MS Dynamics in the other divisions of the Mayer Group.
